The Complete Solution Modernizing Analog Circuits

Transforming the way engineers design analog and information processing systems.

Okika Devices is the world leader in Field-Programmable Analog Arrays (FPAA).  We produce chips and software that enable custom analog solutions and cutting-edge analog computing.

Our FlexAnalog™ products build on the legacy of Anadigm switched-capacitor technology to implement highly cost-effective audio, sonar, and sensor signal processing.  With 4 configurable analog blocks per chip and easy-to-use software, system designers can construct full multi-channel analog front-ends.  In-system reprogrammability and single-cycle configuration updates enable continuous software control of filter parameters and amplification stages.  A rich library of pre-approved analog modules with full simulation support dramatically simplifies the process of creating custom analog circuits.

Our SoC products advance the state of FPAA technology, combining large arrays of configurable analog blocks, digital logic blocks, and a microcontroller.  The high cell count facilitates analog processing of large number of sensors, analog computing or signal classification in a single integrated circuit part, a tiny fraction when comparted to traditional analog solutions.

Analog adjustability of programming switches enables designs to be customized and stored in the routing fabric, thereby enabling compact implementation of your specific analog design. Applications range from sensor interfacing and processing, signal filtering, industrial control systems, audio and sonar signal classification, IoT, robotics and vector matrix multiplication (VMM).  Our SoC products shine when large channel counts are needed or when complex signal processing must be done with minimal power.

What is a Field Programmable Analog Array?

Okika offers state-of-the-art integrated circuit "Field Programmable Analog Arrays" (FPAA) containing an array of configurable analog blocks, like op-amps and passive components, which can be interconnected and programmed to create custom analog circuits, similar to how a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) allows for custom digital circuits to be built, but specifically designed for analog signal processing applications. Our FPAA components allow designers to create complex analog functions on a chip by configuring pre-built analog building blocks as needed with easy-to-use automatic design software. FPAAs also allow for real-time in-circuit reconfiguration through simple bitmap control.

Key points about FPAAs:

Analog equivalent to FPGA:
While an FPGA works with digital logic gates, an FPAA works with analog components embedded directly inside the device like resistors, capacitors, and op-amps, making it suitable for designing analog circuits with complex signal processing needs.

Configurable analog blocks:
FPAAs contain pre-designed analog blocks (called "Configurable Analog Modules" or CAMs) that can be interconnected to create custom analog functions.

Application-agnostic design:
Like FPGAs which are often used for general-purpose digital applications, Okika’s FPAAs are designed for a wide range of analog applications like sensor signal conditioning, filtering, and low-power analog computing.

Benefits:
FPAAs offer flexibility in analog circuit design allowing rapid prototyping and customization without the need to fabricate a completely new custom analog chip, plus providing for in-circuit reconfiguration during operation. Other benefits include:

• Shorter Development Time
• Lower Development Cost
• Easier Circuit Debug During Development
• Smaller Size-Weight Through System-on-a-Chip Designs
• Higher Performance
• Lower Unit Cost
• Lower Power
• In-Circuit Reconfigurability
