About the role
You’ll be the technical bridge between Okika Devices and our customers—helping them develop, debug, and document applications using our FPAA products and evaluation boards. You’ll prototype circuits, write example code, characterize performance in the lab, and turn that work into content (guides, demos, videos) that helps customers succeed. You’ll also partner closely with Design Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to influence product roadmaps with real customer feedback.
What you’ll do
- Implement example circuits using Okika development boards, FPAA tools, and software.
- Design and test custom PCBs that demonstrate Okika FPAAs in targeted applications.
- Develop software & libraries for Okika FPAA products (primarily C and Python, occasional C++).
- Characterize circuits in the lab (bring-up, debug, performance sweeps, repeatable test plans).
- Create demos & content: film short application demos for YouTube, our website, and social channels; write app notes and quick-starts.
- Support customers: answer technical questions, reproduce issues, propose solutions and design best-practices.
- Deliver training to distributors, reps, customers, and internal teams (remote and occasional onsite).
- Provide pre/post-sales expertise on strategic customer engagements; help scope proofs-of-concept.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define features for new products and improve tools.
- Travel occasionally for on-site support, training, and key customer visits.
Core qualifications
- Analog design experience with operational amplifiers (stability, noise, biasing, filters, gain/phase margins), passive networks, and mixed-signal interfaces.
- Hands-on circuit characterization using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function/arb generators, DMMs, and power supplies; ability to design clean test setups and interpret results.
- Comfort with PCB design and bring-up (Altium or similar EDA, schematic capture, layout reviews, DFM basics, solder/rework helpful).
- Programming: solid C and Python for embedded demos, data capture, and tooling; familiarity with version control (Git).
- Clear communicator who enjoys working directly with customers—can translate requirements into experiments, explain tradeoffs, and document findings crisply.
- BS in EE/CE (or related field)
Nice-to-have experience
- FPAA / switched-capacitor / analog computing concepts; filters, mixers, modulators, envelope/peak detectors, comparators, AGC.
- Signal processing (FFT, windowing, filtering) and basic control theory (loop stability, compensation).
- Network analyzer (Bode/impedance) use; noise measurements; EMC/ESD best practices.
- Embedded interfaces (SPI, I²C, UART) and simple microcontroller firmware.
- Data and plotting workflows in Python (NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib).
- Documentation & content: app notes, tutorials, screen-capture, light video editing.
- Customer-facing engineering (FAE/Apps/Field Apps) or startup experience.
